SHINOBI NINJA ATTACKS BOSTON!
Brooklyn-based Shinobi Ninja, a rock/rap group appealing to both the Beastie Boy, as well as the Nirvana, inside of you, kick off their "Brooklyn to SXSW Tour" at Copperfield's in Boston Saturday Night.
On the eve of their tour, and after releasing "Shinobi Ninja Attacks!", their unique iPhone app and video game allowing fans to "earn" their album by assuming the role of a band member on a quest to Babylon, Shinobi Ninja is getting "attention from people that would have never paid attention to us", says drummer Terminator Dave on the response from fans and industry folk alike. Shinobi Ninja is poised to crush Boston this weekend as they kickoff their "Brooklyn to SXSW Tour", with stops in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C., Virginia, and Atlanta lined up, culminating in numerous showcases at the Indie Holy Land of SXSW. This Saturday will surely be your last chance to get close enough to compare their actual faces to each of their highly individualized characters in their custom video game. Download the game here! As a special incentive, fans can download their app "Shinobi Ninja Attacks!" from iTunes for free before the show, then come to the show and a receive a code to unlock the full version where they will have access to their album by playing as one of the band members to defeat bad guys in a fully interactive environment. Can't make the show? You can still download the app for a quick $1.99, giving you full access immediately. You'll just have to master the game if you want the album. Get ready to beat up evil hipsters on your way to the L Train in Brooklyn, and throw down douchebags on your way to "Club Babylon". No better way to pass the time on the green line!
As a special mention on the scene at SXSW, Shinobi Ninja will be featured at the Pure Volume house, always a ridiculous party as past SXSW die hards know, as part of the Music Tech Mashup, presented by The Deli Magazine, Greenshoelace.com, The Hunny Pot, and Planet Ill. This exciting showcase will feature emerging bands, and the conversion of technology and music that has provided a unique opportunity for bands to reach their fans in an incredibly fresh way. Shinobi Ninja has already received immense attention for their innovative way of connecting with their fans through a relatively simple concept, executed in a near-perfect way. Chances are, bands of the future will look back and ask themselves how they can be more like Shinobi Ninja. They've paved the way for innovation and creativity in using technology to connect fans of all kinds.
Shinobi Ninja has already conquered some of the most notable venues in New York City, including opening for Mike Posner at the Blender Gramercy Theater last month, and continue to excite audiences across the U.S. Their last show in Boston, at Harper's Ferry, was a huge success and they'll surely sell out Copperfield's this weekend. Get to Copperfield's this Saturday. Bring your iPhone, and make sure you get "Shinobi Ninja Attacks" before you get there.
